PhD in Earth Sciences (2002), specialization in radiogenic elements and isotopic tracing,from the Université du Québec à Montréal (GEOTOP). Author of publications inscientific journals and reviews on rare metals (lithium, beryllium, molybdenum, etc.) andon the use of isotopic systems for dating and tracing purposes.
In 1994, he made a brief foray into the field of mineral exploration as a geologist onvarious projects in the James Bay territory on behalf of the mining industry.
From 1995 to 1997, he served as Project Manager for the Quebec Ministry of NaturalResources in the mineral resource development program on the Côte-Nord with the Innu(Montagnais), and from 1998 to 2002 in the Far North within the Inuit territories.
In 2003, he was recruited by the Grand Council of the Crees as Chief Geologist and Executive Director for the Cree Council on Mineral Exploration. He has worked on research projects focused on social acceptability and regionaldevelopment under the auspices of the Cree Mineral Exploration Board. He has been involved in various programs related to Geo-Scientific knowledgedevelopment, economic development, assessment of the mineral potential of the JamesBay region, college and vocational training, and job creation on behalf of the Cree ofQuébec.
He has also been involved in several socio-economic and environmental agreementsbetween the Cree Nation and the mining industry, as well as between the Cree Nation andthe Government of Québec.
