Mr. Guy Bourassa, joined Scandium Canada Ltd.in January 2024 as its CEO. He rapidly negotiated a pre-development agreement with the Naskapi nation of Kawawachikamach for the Crater lake mining project. He also developed relationship with the Naskapi Nation leading to a direct investment by the Nation Trust that now owns over 5% of Scandium Canada Ltd.
Mr. Bourassa was the Founder, Director and has acted as President and CEO of Nemaska Lithium Inc. from January 2008 to February 2020. During his tenure he was instrumental in bringing an historical lithium showing through the construction phase and over 2 years of operation of a large pilot plant to produce lithium hydroxide.
He negotiated the Impact Benefit Agreement with the Cree First Nation of Nemaska and the Grand Council of the Crees. He was directly involved in the environmental permitting process for the Whabouchi mine. He successfully raised approximately $1.5B during his tenure. He negotiated, in particular, $10M private placement from Tianqi Lithium at the early stage of the company, as a strategic investor.
